Previous experience working on projects within the Gulf region.Prior experience in Landscape and Infrastructure related landscape works. Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, contracts and tendering procedures.Demonstrable experience of applying current design standards, guidance and good working practices to the design of external spaces experience in Middle east is desirable.Responsible for the management of small teams, running managing delivery of projects in all aspect and delegating the work and responsible for the production of landscape drawings and documents for infrastructure and development projects, ranging from schematic design, detail design and tender drawing submission along with hard and soft landscape General Arrangement plans, construction detailing, planting schedules BOQ MOM and Specifications. Assist in the training and development of others within the Council on all aspects of green blue infrastructure, landscape design and maintenance.Edinburgh Biodiversity Partnership, Nature Recovery and Climate Adaptation. Support external and internal partnerships e.g.Work closely with Scottish Water and third-party developers on Section 7 agreements and manage the adoption process.Work collaboratively with the Council’s Parks, Planning, Roads, Active Travel and 20 Minute Neighbourhood teams in all aspects of work.Take a proactive and responsible approach to creating new processes for the standards and adoption and long-term maintenance of green blue infrastructure in Edinburgh.Submit bids for finances and manage relationships with funders.Manage new build and retrofit public realm and landscape projects, of varying sizes and complexity through all RIBA Stages.Initially this work will be focused in the Craigleith/Inverleith/Drylaw area, with the expectation that this will expand as interventions in this area are completed and additional funding is available. Whilst based in the Flood Management team, the post holder will also be working closely with the 20 Minute Neighbourhood, Active Travel and Planning teams, and will lead green blue projects through all RIBA stages ensuring that the processes are in place for maintaining the changing ‘greener’ city in the future. This is a key role in ensuring that green blue infrastructure is built and maintained correctly and that all the processes are in place to ensure a robust future for the city that helps with the increased risk of flooding and drought. The post holder will be an experienced Landscape Architect with knowledge of sustainable drainage and green infrastructure design and delivery on site, and have demonstrable design and construction project management ability.
